Your Church

Welcome to St. Mary Magdalene Church in Latimer

by The Right Revd. John Went Church photo

We are a village church in the benefice of Chenies providing something for people of different age groups. Our mission is to know Christ and make Christ known, through personal discipleship, through involvement in the local community, through being involved in and with the Church family.

Join us on a Sunday morning at 11:00 am; we seek to strike a balance of worship recognising different needs of village people. There is always provision each Sunday during the service for children in the Parish Room next to the church; once a month on a Sunday afternoon there is Messy Church, with craft activities, a short time of worship and tea together for families.

We are a wonderful venue for weddings, with the hotel next door as a reception venue.

As your local Vicar I wish to be available to meet up if anyone has particular needs where they would value support or if anyone wishes to explore the Christian faith. I believe that Jesus Christ is good news in our time, in a world where there is so much insecurity I believe a faith in Jesus Christ can offer a wonderful sense of inner peace and security. To embrace the Kingdom values Jesus taught and lived out is a great way of finding a deeper meaning and purpose in life than simply opting for self-centred materialism that so often seems to be a characteristic of our contemporary Western society.
